Pet Grooming On The Run - Mobile Pet Grooming

Your dog or cat needs to be groomed. You are too busy to go the traditional route. Maybe your pet is older and fearful away from home. Mobile pet grooming to the rescue. This is such a great concept for many reasons. Your pet can stay in a familiar environment and still get the haircut or bath needed. It's especially nice for the elderly client who has transportation issues.

The mobile groomer has been around for years. I lived and worked in a rural veterinary practice and a van from a nearby larger town would pick up pets at our clinic and return them later in the day clean and clipped. The owners could pick them up at the end of their work day. It was convenient way to get their pets groomed without driving to another town to do so.

The modern mobile groomer will have a fully equipped van in which to bathe and clip your pet. Prices may be slightly higher as they cannot do as many pets in a day as a salon can. It's well worth the price for many pet owners. Some mobile groomers will groom your pet right in your home. It's a much less stressful experience for the elderly or infirm pet. They won't be caged waiting for their turn in a noisy kennel environment. They typically will not be caged and will not come into contact with other pets, reducing the chance of picking up parasites or disease.

So many types of vans and trucks are available now. They have hot and cold water, are heated and air conditioned and have every bit of equipment a typical salon carries. I saw a lot of pictures of customized vans and they are quite plush. These rolling salons are staffed with professional stylists. The larger ones have space for more than one groomer to work at once. All this without putting your pet in the car. This is great news for people with pets prone to carsickness. For those pets riding in a car, even for a short distance is torture. I sympathize. I was in my teens before we went anywhere without something for me to throw up in.

Mobile groomers are available in most major cities and surrounding areas. Check your yellow pages or online for a list in your area and your pet can enjoy the spa treatment without the travel.
